The crew at Water Savers LLC performed a leak detection and repair on a customer’s property in Snellville, GA. A homeowner observed an exposed water line meter where water was spraying out of a a broken PVC pipe. Water Savers replaced the broken PVC section of the water line.
“We had to repair work that was done by a previous plumbing company, who had been hired to replace a broken water line years ago.” – Water Savers, LLC
When a new leak sprung, the customer knew to call Water Savers LLC. The home is 20 years old and 5 years ago the homeowner had a leak in the middle of their yard and stated that their previous plumber put in a whole new copper water line and had charged accordingly.
As it turns out, the previous plumber picked up the meter 5 or 10 feet out – replacing the part that is broken, but never connecting to the meter. This is a common problem – many competitors partially replace only the broken portion, but take shortcuts with the connection of the meter and the house. This enables them to complete the job in half the time instead of doing it properly the first time.
In other words, many plumbers stop at the sidewalk and start 5 or 10 feet from the meter section leaving old pipes in place just because it’s not leaking. In these cases, homeowners assume that they have a new line until old pieces fail. As a result, homeowners have to spend more money in the future.
