Electric Water Heater Failure

Problem:
The original sixty-six gallon electric water heater was no longer operable and needed to be replaced.  Since this water heater was purchased, the codes had changed and they now only make a fifty gallon tank and an eighty gallon tank.

Solution
We upgraded the tank capacity and installed an eighty gallon electric water heater in its place. We also had to replace the pressure reducing valve because it was not working.  The pressure was three times the maximum allowed, which is 50. We also had to install a thermal expansion tank so that when the water heater boils, it would not rupture the plumbing in the house.
